F.A.Q

What is the difference between our shared platform and a private cloud?
  • By default our Proxmox Backup Instances run on a shared, multi-tenant platform that provides cost efficiency and managed infrastructure. A private cloud is an optional, dedicated environment that provides exclusive hardware, storage, and networking for a single customer — offering stronger isolation and predictable performance for compliance-driven or specialized workloads.

Can a Private Cloud scale up?
  • Yes. If you choose an optional managed cloud, you can easily expand compute, storage, and networking capacity as your needs grow. Additional Proxmox nodes or RAID-backed storage can be added without downtime, letting your infrastructure scale seamlessly.

What kind of storage is used?
  • All deployments use RAID-backed storage for redundancy and performance. This ensures data durability and consistent performance for your backups and workloads.

Is my backup data encrypted?
  • Yes. We support client-side AES-256-GCM encryption so backups are encrypted before leaving your hosts. You retain control of encryption keys and can create a master key for recovery; OneColo will not access your encrypted backup data unless you provide keys for managed recovery.

Where is my data hosted?
  • Your environment runs in our secure Tampa, Florida data center with physical access control, power redundancy, and 24/7 monitoring.
