How the billing works
$6.95 per month covers your first 1 TB. Beyond that, storage is billed per GB at $0.0068 per GB (the same rate as $6.95 per TB), measured on the deduplicated, compressed data actually stored on the server, not the raw size of your VMs. Monthly transfer is included, there is no setup fee, and you can cancel any month.

Chunk-level deduplication with Zstandard compression means a month of daily backups costs a fraction of the raw size, and you are billed on what is actually stored.
Client-side AES-256-GCM encryption happens on your Proxmox hosts before anything leaves your network. You hold the key; we never see plaintext.
Scheduled verification jobs re-check every snapshot, and direct-attached SAS on ZFS with NVMe metadata keeps browsing and single-file restores quick.

A managed Proxmox Backup Server datastore that OneColo operates for you. After ordering you receive a hostname, datastore name, API token, and TLS fingerprint; add it as storage in Proxmox VE and start backing up. Pay As You Grow does not include the PBS web interface or shell access — we handle the server, storage, verification, and updates. If you want direct WebUI and sudo control, choose a reserved instance.

Yes. A push sync job from your own on-premises Proxmox Backup Server (version 3.3 or newer) is configured on your side using your OneColo credentials. Pull jobs, remotes, and additional tokens live on OneColo's server, so they are set up by our admins — open a support ticket describing what you want synced and we configure it for you.

Yes. Namespaces keep multiple clusters or clients separated inside your datastore, each with its own retention. On Pay As You Grow they are created by our admins — open a support ticket with the namespace names you need and we set them up. Once created, you target them from your Proxmox VE storage configuration or sync jobs.

Yes. Proxmox VE and proxmox-backup-client support client-side AES-256-GCM encryption at the chunk level, so data is encrypted before it leaves your network. You hold the encryption key; keep a copy of the key file and the paper master key somewhere safe. OneColo cannot read encrypted backups without your key.

No inbound ports. Your Proxmox hosts connect outbound to our endpoint on TCP 8007 over TLS, which works from behind NAT with no VPN required.

Choose a reserved Dedicated Instance when you want the PBS web interface and sudo access to manage your own datastores, users, sync jobs, and prune schedules, when your usage passes roughly 10 TB and reserved capacity becomes cheaper per TB, or when you need bare-metal isolation. Most customers start on Pay As You Grow and upgrade later; we migrate your existing backups to the new instance.
